This year, Luxembourg Pride Week once again mixes art, culture and socio-political topics in support of the LGBTIQ+ community.
Rosa Lëtzebuerg asbl, the national LGBTIQ organization, has announced the lineup for Pride Week 2022, along with a list of policy demands to try to encourage policy makers to take action on behalf of the LGBTIQ+ community.
The pandemic has had a negative effect on almost everyone, and the association also draws a grim conclusion with a particular focus on the LGBTIQ+ community: visibility has diminished and safer spaces for queer culture have disappeared. In addition, many suffered from loneliness and isolation.
Six points were listed as demands, including more gender options in civil registration, automatic parental recognition, creation of safe spaces, depsychiatrisation of trans people, no intervention in the life of a person without his consent, as well as solidarity with gay refugees from Ukraine and other countries.
