Blu Hydrangea admitted she was shaken after a “scary” encounter with airport security in Morocco, where it is illegal to be in the LGBTQ+ community.
The 25-year-old RuPaul’s Drag Race star, who is set to star in the UK franchise spin-off Versus The World, flew to the African country on tour with his band The Frock Destroyers last year and told exclusive to MailOnline its experience.
Confessing she hadn’t expected the ‘huge culture shock’, the Belfast native packed a ‘huge’ pair of silicone breasts for her ‘raunchy’ performance in her hand luggage.

On arrival she was left with a ‘heart in her throat’ as her luggage was sent through x-ray scanners before being flagged for inspection.
She told MailOnline: “Oh my God. So for the Frock Destroyers concert I have to look pretty scorching in my outfit of choice.
“I had these huge silicone boobs that were too heavy for my suitcase because it was over so I put them in my carry-on.
“It didn’t really occur to me that it would have to go through open scanners by the security guards, so I basically sent in my massive t**s and of course they got flagged.”

With same-sex sexual activity punishable by six months to three years in prison and a fine of up to 1,200 dirhams (£239), Blu was certainly taking a risk.
She continued, “The man opened the bag, squeezed a t*t, closed it and sent me on my way. But honestly, my heart was in my throat because we had a crazy culture shock in Morocco.
“It’s a beautiful place but it was definitely something out of a horror movie. It was crazy, we couldn’t walk in drag or flamboyant clothes so the person who booked us had to transfer us everywhere.
‘Especially being with Baga [Chipz] and Divine [de Campo]who has a mohawk and wears rainbow clothes, it was barely low-key, you know.

Blu – who, aged 11, was secretly watching Drag Race at 1% volume at 2am – will go up against fellow artist Cheryl Hole in the upcoming BBC Three series.
The Essex star told MailOnline: “For me, Ru [Paul] has truly set the world on fire over the past two years and I will be forever grateful for all the opportunities given to me to showcase my art.
“We were invited for a reason, we have to remember that Ru is watching our audition tapes – it’s not a group of people deciding for us.
‘Ru has the final say on whoever he wants on the show. I’m here because Ru loves what I do and I have to show that I’m doing my best.
