Grab your singing bowls and start this weekend off with “A Sound Healing Experience” in Manhattan Beach.
The Culture Club South Bay will host the sound bath event in partnership with Bloom Holistic Healing from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 14 at Bruce’s Beach. The event, the organizer said, will continue the climate of healing at Bruce’s Beach and reclaiming space for those for whom it was originally intended, efforts that have continued – along with various protests and legislative initiatives – in the resort, which was owned and operated by black people.
The idea is “to come together to celebrate unity and connection,” said Allison Hales, founder of the Culture Club. “It’s been a brutal year for many of us and I hope this gathering can offer healing and connection within the Manhattan Beach community.”
Jennifer Franklin of Bloom Holistic Healing uses sound and breath to help people heal from within.
Sound baths, according to Eventbrite’s description, can reduce anxiety, depression, blood pressure, fatigue, and pain, while increasing clarity, focus, creativity, energy, and spiritual connection.
Hales launched the Culture Club South Bay last year with virtual events to celebrate different walks of life in the region through music, dance and more.
Those attending Friday’s event should bring a blanket, pillow, yoga mat, jacket, water, journal, pen and crystals.
